Upon the opening of the San Ramon Golf Course in 1963, the San Ramon Niner’s (9-hole) and the San Ramon Women’s Golf Club (18- hole) established golf organizations for local women and for the past 40+ years they have actively advanced women’s golf in the East Bay.
The San Ramon Niner’s Golf Club (9-hole) is open to women 21 years of age and older, with a limited knowledge of the game. This is the perfect club for the “emerging” golfer. She is an individual who has taken lessons, has played some golf and feels a need to improve her golfing skills. There is a strong emphasis on learning the game of golf through clinics, regular play, continuous instruction on the Rules of Golf and the etiquette of the game. There is a handicap requirement to join.
The San Ramon Niner’s is also the perfect opportunity for the intermediate golfer to regularly play a nine- hole round of golf due to her scheduling, health limitations or family obligations. This Club affords an opportunity for all its members to enjoy both a friendly and competitive nine-holes of golf. Some of the benefits in joining this group are:

The San Ramon Women’s Golf Club (18-hole) is open to women 21 years of age and older with an intermediate to advanced knowledge of the game. This is the ideal club for the woman, who has been playing golf regularly for at least 2-3 years. She should have a working knowledge of the Rules of Golf as well as the etiquette of the game. There is a constant reinforcement of these throughout the year through Rules Clinics and open discussion of course situations as they occur. A maximum handicap index of 40.4 is a requirement to join this Club.
